Bethesda Fine Art

David Prentice (born 1943) is an American artist. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Prentice studied at the Art School of the University of Hartford.

Although he was assistant to Jasper Johns, Robert Motherwell, Helen Frankenthaler, Alexander Liberman, and Malcolm Morley, Prentice has become an internationally known painter in his own right. During the 1960s he was associated with Lyrical Abstraction, and is well-known for his landscape paintings. His works are featured in many private and public collections including the Whitney Museum, National Museum of American Art, and Museum of Modern Art (New York).
